How to self-exclude from BetMGM

Last checked October 16, 2026 against official help pages. Apps change, so if a button has moved, the official page wins.

BetMGM has two account tools. A Time Out locks your whole account for a set time. A Service Closure shuts off one product, like Sports or Casino. Both carry across every state where you use BetMGM, except Nevada, which is separate.

We link to this operator only so you can lock yourself out. We do not promote betting apps or sportsbooks.

  1. Step 1: Withdraw and save records

Take out what you can and save statements first.

  2. Step 2: Open Responsible Gaming

Log in and go to My Account, then Settings, then Responsible Gaming.

  3. Step 3: Choose Time Out or Service Closure

Pick Time Out to lock the whole account, or Service Closure to close Sports, Casino, or Poker on its own.

  4. Step 4: Choose a length and confirm

Time Outs run from a few days up to one year. Pick your period and confirm.

  5. Step 5: Go longer with your state

If a year isn't enough, enroll in your state's self-exclusion program. It covers every licensed operator, not only BetMGM.

Good to know

  • Where these settings live is described in BetMGM's account FAQs.
  • BetMGM Nevada accounts are separate, so set a Time Out there too if you have one.
  • Contact BetMGM support if you can't find the option in your app.

Keep going

Find your state's self-exclusion program, count your days on My Progress, or browse books that help.
