How to set up Gamban
Gamban blocks gambling apps and websites across your devices. It is a paid tool with a free trial, and one account covers your phone and computer. Set it up on every device you own, not just the one you bet on most.
Step 1: Create your account
Sign up at gamban.com or in the Gamban app. Check the current price on their pricing page first. When we checked, it was $6.99 a month or $41.99 a year.
Step 2: iPhone or iPad
Use Safari. Install the Gamban app (iOS 14 or later), log in, tap Set Up Gamban Blocking, then Download Gamban. Allow the configuration profile, then open Settings, General, Profile, tap Gamban, tap Install, enter your passcode, and tap Trust. Gamban's iPhone guide has screenshots. Work-managed phones can't install it.
Step 3: Android
Install Gamban from the Play Store (Android 5 or later), log in, and finish all four boxes: Enable Accessibility (leave the Gamban shortcut off), Enable Device Admin, Enable VPN, and Run in Background. Each box gets a check mark when it is done. See the Android guide.
Step 4: Windows
Log in on Gamban's site, download the Windows installer, right-click it and choose Run as Administrator, then restart. Pause antivirus and remove other blockers first. See the Windows guide.
Step 5: Mac
Download the Mac installer, open the .dmg, run Gamban Setup from Finder, then restart. See the Mac guide.
Step 6: Check it works
On a computer, open a browser and visit check.gamban.com. You should see "You are protected by Gamban". On a phone, try opening a betting site you know. It should not load.
Good to know
- Ask someone you trust to keep your Gamban login, so a rough night doesn't turn into an uninstall.
- Pair Gamban with self-exclusion in your state for a second layer.
- Gamban is a tool, not a cure. Keep a helpline number and a meeting in your week too.
